Looking For That Perfect Wedding Suit? Consider Tailor Made!
Couples spend a lot of time, money and energy on that one special day of their life – the all-important wedding day. However, we find that generally speaking it’s the menswear that sometimes is left to be the final piece of the puzzle when scheduling everything in.
Selecting the right look for both the groom and his groomsmen is extremely important, as how the boys look can either complement the bride and her bride tribe or (if the right look for the groom and his groomsman is not chosen) undo all the hard work they have put in the wedding.
We have created tailor made suits for hundreds of grooms and his groomsmen, having in-depth conversations in our appointments and getting a feel for them and their special day. We ask questions such as where the wedding is going to be? What is the colour theme of the wedding? And what do you like in a suit? All these questions help us in curating that perfect look.
With the end of the 2020 wedding season just finishing up and the start of the 2021 season, we will show you some of our favourite tailored made pieces designed in our Subiaco showroom and how we came to the final look. All these grooms executed their perfect look and as you can see what they chose to wear really did add something special to the wedding and the style of it.
South west summer wedding
It is a common request for us to create a linen look for an outdoor wedding especially a south west destination wedding. Tim was originally interested in a linen suit for his wedding, in his appointment at Suit Vault we had a beer and chatted about the pros and cons of a linen suit.
Unfortunately, linen being a heavier fabric than wool, and with the poor wearability of this type of fabric during your wedding day (wrinkling, creasing and overheating) we agreed that we should look for an alternative option. We recommend to Tim a wool or wool blend, as this type of fabric has thermoregulating properties. Meaning that air gets trapped between the tiny crimps of wool, allowing the fabric to keep you cool in the height of summer, as well as warm in winter. A great outcome for a potentially hot wedding day in Yallingup while at the same time the wool fabric will help mitigate the wrinkling of the suit throughout the day while still executing a linen style look.
Winter city casual wedding
For those planning on having a smaller get together due to the COVID-19 times we are living in and would prefer not to wear a traditional suit, selecting a blazer and chino combination is a great alternative. Luke and his fiancé were trying to put together a city chic style wedding for their special day, he was quite interested in the mis-match suit style (a different style jacket to the trousers). Being that the wedding would take place in winter we chose a dark grey washed wool and paired this with a cotton chino to give it some contrast. Little details can help bring the entire look together, noted here is Luke’s brown bow tie and silver cuff links which worked in perfectly with the tone of the tailored grey blazer.
Swan valley wedding
Jackson & Megan came to Suit Vault 8 months out from their special day, they had a green colour suit and had been searching all over for it. We were so happy to be able to find one that paired perfectly for their day, a textured green wool which gave the tailor made suit some extra volume. Jackson showed our tailor some images of the style of three piece suit he was hoping for us to create. As they both did not have an official bridal party this also allowed us some freedom to experiment with the features of his 3-piece suit being the lining and buttons selected as well as the jacket design.
He also chose to wear RM Williams boots to give it a modern look – boots have become a common choice for an outdoor wedding lately. Jackson also wanted his vest to be a double breasted one with a low hanging cut so it could work in well with his bolo tie – a family heirloom. As you can see it worked in fantastic as well as the shade of green wool, the tone of the fabric works perfectly with their outdoor green setting.
At Suit Vault we offer a one-on-one consultation to discuss your dream tailor made suit, we recommend bringing in photo examples of styles that you like and the colour tones. It can also be a great idea to discuss with your future bride what the girls are wearing, theme of the wedding and any other personalised add on they may like on the suit also be it the colour of the lining or even the wedding date embroidered on the inside of the jacket.
Our tailoring pricing starts from $499 for a Blazer, $849 for a two piece suit or $999 for a three piece suit, this price includes your choice of buttons, linings and lapel stitching.
